Top 5 Byron Bay for February

If we had one word to describe the ambience of Byron Bay in February, it would be – chilled.

With the school holidays over and most interstate visitors back at work, you’ll notice the pace sliding into an even more relaxed gear. You’ll have plenty of time to soak up glorious summer days, while unearthing a smorgasbord of things to do in the region.

Not sure where to start? Here are our top picks of Byron Bay in February.

1) Savour the Final Month of Summer

Throughout February

February is definitely more mellow than the previous summer months as the crowds pour out of town and head, reluctantly, back home.

With average highs of 27ºC and average lows of 21ºC, the weather is warm and opens up the possibility for just about any activity that takes your fancy. Stretch out poolside, fossick for shells at the beach, shop until you drop or go for a moonlit walk with the waves licking at your toes.

2) Toast to Love on Valentine’s Day

14 February

Did you know the tradition of wooing your loved one with blooms, confectionery and greeting cards started way back in 18-century England?

Set the tone for a romantic getaway by pre-ordering one of Elements of Byron’s decadently delicious bouquets of a dozen Valrhona chocolate covered strawberries before you arrive. Delivered straight to your villa and guaranteed to delight. Made to order, ensure you contact reception with your request at least 48 hours prior to checking in.

Food is a love language that is universally understood. With a diverse and dynamic foodie culture alive and well across the Byron Bay region, you’ll be able to choose the right combination of culinary flare and atmosphere to create an unforgettable Valentine’s dinner.

Make Valentine’s dinner an evening to remember at Elements of Byron. Start with an indulgent soak in your private villa bath then watch the sunset across Belongil Beach with a cocktail in hand, care of Botanica Beach Club’s vintage camper bar.

Take a short stroll, hand in hand, to Azure Bar and Grill where the dining room atmosphere is relaxed, elevated and warmed by authentic service. Try a cocktail made with botanicals foraged on-resort or a wine from our award winning list to accompany inspired, ingredient-led dishes from the menu.

Retire to the fire pit for a night cap against the backdrop of the Central Lagoon Pool and dancing flames.

Venture into Byron village for a romantic, beachfront dinner at Beach. The restaurant kisses the sands of Clarkes Beach and sets the tone with contemporary Australian cuisine and knowledgeable service. The kitchen specialises in perfectly cooking and delicately balancing the flavours of fresh local seafood.

Head further afield to a Lennox Head favourite, Shelter. This full service, beachside restaurant is renowned for its cocktail culture, seasonal menu and simplistic coastal cool aesthetic. Enjoy dining whilst watching the waves roll in and feeling ocean breezes caress your skin.

3) Restaurants to Rave About

When Your Taste Buds Call

With its lush hinterland areas and knockout string of beaches, Byron Bay is renowned as a destination for folks from far-flung corners of the globe.

There’s a rich cultural infusion in Byron’s world-class culinary scene. Tuck into a tasty burger by day and dine at a swish hatted restaurant by night, there’s sure to be something to tickle your taste buds.

Sample Asian flavours with a modern twist at Light Years, an art-deco inspired, fun-infused Jonson Lane eatery.

Also in Byron village, The Smoking Camel is vibrantly designed, bold in flavour and just plain cheeky when it comes to cocktail creation. Modern middle eastern eats served with a party atmosphere.

Under the sloped ceilings of a 1910’s schoolhouse, The Hut is a little hinterland slice of Mediterranean goodness amongst the trees. Lunch only.

Further afield, and inspired by Raffles in Singapore, Tweed River House is a hatted restaurant and grand dame that offers wide mountain views and impeccable plates. It’s a 50 minute drive from Elements, but when occasion calls, it’s well worth it.

We’ve made your selection a little easier with a list of some of Byron’s most raved about foodie outlets.

4) Romance in Action

From Spa Treatments to Hot Air Ballooning

In honour of St Valentine we’re sharing a list of romantic ways to reconnect with your partner in the Byron region.

Escape together to the blissful serenity of Osprey Spa. Massage away tension, bring out your glow with a face or body treatment or experience the different phases of an indulgent ritual treatment together.

The exhilaration of floating above Byron’s stunning coastline at sunrise and a celebratory champagne al fresco breakfast at The Farm’s Three Blue Ducks restaurant, Byron Bay Ballooning offers a hot air balloon experience you’ll never forget.

Board a Byron Bay Cruise boat in the late afternoon sun. Marvel at towering riverbank trees, seabirds returning to the shore for the night and the perfect reflection of the sunset painted across the pristine Brunswick River.

Byron Bay’s ancient natural wonder and modern free spirit are just two reasons why this destination offers an instant sense of romance, with countless ways to enjoy it.

5) Stone & Wood Brewery

Any day (but maybe not every day!)

Byron’s Arts & Industry Estate serves up ice cold brews perfect for warm February days at Stone & Wood Brewery.

A leisurely 1.5km walk from Elements of Byron, the brewery is consciously green, community focused and deliberately experimental with limited-release pilot batches available for tasting along with tried-and-tested favourite handcrafted beers.

For visitors, it’s well worth booking in for a tour. It’s hands down the best way to sample the remarkable beers available, has a great beer garden and it’s an easy amble back to Elements!
