48 Hours in Byron Bay

You’ve checked-in to Elements of Byron and have 48 hours to squeeze every last drop of the quintessential Byron Bay experience into your holiday. What to do?

Day One – Explore

07:00 – 08:00
SUNRISE BEACHFRONT YOGA

The best imaginable start to your short break. Wake-up and greet the sun with First Light Club yoga overlooking the beach with Elements’ very own in-house yoga instructor. It’s free and all you have to do is turn up five minutes before class start time. You might even be lucky enough to spot a whale breaching as you salute the sun! Mats are provided.

08:30 – 09:30
SUMPTUOUS BREAKFAST

Muscles stretched and body awake – it’s now time for a fresh, healthy breakfast at the resorts Azure Bar and Grill. Breakfast hours are 7am-10.30am. Before heading off for your ‘Byron explore’ don’t forget to pack your swimmers, hat and towel and grab a map from our Concierge.

You could even take a quick dip in the ocean before you leave – mornings at Byron’s beautiful beaches are one of the best times for a swim!

09:30 – 12:00
BEACH & HEADLAND WALK

Ready for morning oceanside walk to the Cape Byron Lighthouseone of Australia’s most spectacular coastal trails?

The Lighthouse is about an hour’s stroll from the resort along the beachfront or a 15-minute drive.

Wander along the sands from the resort to Clarkes Beach or, if you’re driven, leave your car at the (metered) Clarkes Beach carpark in front of Beach, Byron Bay.

From here, turn left on the beach and walk towards the headland to The Pass. Stop off for a dip in the turquoise waters before exploring the pristine rainforest of Palm Valley. As you meander through the trees you’re very likely to spot wildlife – wallabies, bush turkeys and more.

The path takes you around the headland, past Wategos Beach and then it winds through the forested headland to the Lighthouse. There are some extraordinary sights on this path up to the Lighthouse.

Once at the Cape, enjoy spectacular panoramic ocean views. Spot dolphins surfing the waves below or even watch migrating humpback whales, if you’re there between May and November.

Café Byron Lighthouse Café serves great coffee and local ice-creams – a welcome reward for a great walk! It’s now time to walk back down for lunch and then shopping.

12:00 – 13:30
WATERFRONT LUNCH

Beach, Byron Bay is one of Byron’s finest restaurants and recently received a coveted ‘Hat’ award. So book for a relaxed gourmet lunch or grab some delicious takeaway from their kiosk for a beachside picnic.

13:30 – 15:30
SHOPPING IN TOWN

Byron’s boutiques and fashion labels are well-known for their eclectic, laid back style. Allow a few hours to browse stunning boutiques shops, all located in the town centre. Be sure to explore the small arcades – there’s some hidden gems in there.

16:00 – 18:00
SPA TIME

Afternoon indulgence at Osprey Spa. Be sure to book ahead as the spa is quite popular. Our treatment menu lists all our rituals for massage, facials and body treatments. Give yourself precious time for full rejuvenation and pampering – one of these will set a very relaxed tone for the rest of your day – and beyond!

19:00 – 21:30
DINNER AT AZURE BAR AND GRILL

Enjoy a leisurely dinner at Azure Bar and Grill with the very best of local, produce-led cuisine, expertly prepared by our chefs. Bookings recommended.

21:00 – 22:00
NIGHTCAP BY THE FIRE PIT

Finish the day off with a night-cap by the fire-pit. Pop your villa’s louvered windows open to fall asleep to the sound of the crashing waves.

Day 2 – REGENERATE

07:00 – 08:00
SUNRISE BEACHFRONT YOGA

The best imaginable start to the day. Wake-up to greet the dawn with First Light Club sunrise yoga overlooking the beach with Elements’ in-house yoga instructor. Today, be adventurous and finish the class off with a dip in the Pacific Ocean before heading back to your villa to get changed.

08:30 – 09:30
SUMPTUOUS BREAKFAST

Muscles stretched – it’s time to enjoy a breakfast at the resorts Azure Bar and Grill.  Order from an extensive a la carte menu that caters to many tastes.

10:00 – 13:30
THE LIFE AQUATIC

For the next few hours, it’s time to completely switch off. We recommend splitting the time between the resort beachfront and lagoon pool. Now is the time to crack out that novel, or reacquaint yourself with your music library. Be sure to make the most of the resort’s beachfront day beds and explore the pristine Belongil estuary. Sunscreen, sunnies and a cap are highly recommended.

Once the wind and sun picks up at the beach, meander back to the lagoon pool and secure yourself a nest, day bed or lounge chair. Enjoy the poolside drink and food service as needed throughout your down time.

14:00 – 15:30
LUNCH & WALKABOUT AT ‘THE FARM’

A 5-minute drive from the resort is ‘The Farm’. The Farm’s motto is ‘Grow, Feed, Educate’. The Farm’s credo ‘to leave you feeling inspired to make even the smallest change towards a healthier, more harmonious existence with our land, our animals and our communities’ is evident everywhere on the property.  There’s so much to see and do at The Farm, including dine at one of our favourite restaurants, ‘three blue ducks’. We recommend you take a seated lunch at the restaurant with farm vistas, or check out ‘The Bread Social’ for a smaller takeaway lunch and enjoy it on the grassy play area. The Farm can get busy on weekends and during school holidays so book ahead.

15:30 – 18:00
VILLA DOWNTIME

Now it’s time to head back to your villa and enjoy some downtime. Use this time to read a book, watch a movie or have a daytime snooze. Don’t forget that most of our villas have large freestanding tubs so now is a good time to fill that bath & get some bubbles involved.

18:00 – 19:00
BEACH WALK AT SUNSET

Our pocket of paradise is famous for amazing sunsets. Hit the beach for a long leisurely stroll.

19:00 – 21:30
DINNER AT AZURE BAR AND GRILL

Tonight, explore the multitude of share plates on the Azure Bar and Grill menu, with dishes lovingly made with the freshest local produce. Be sure to make a booking in advance. Take a short stroll back to your villa, curl up with a movie or take a nightcap by the fire pit.
