Its distinctive summit is reachable in around 2-3 hours, with a rock scramble at the end that makes the panoramic summit views all-the-more satisfying.

The best time to go is pre-dawn, when you have the chance to be one of the first people in Australia to welcome the new day’s sun.

….and Perfect Evenings

As the sun begins to set over the hinterland hills, head up to Cape Byron Lighthouse for the best view.

Enjoy panoramic views of the bay, town, hinterland and ocean as the skies herald the night. Access this iconic landmark by foot via the Cape Byron Walking Track, a paved track that begins at Wategos Beach, or by driving up Lighthouse Road to the car park.

Afternoon at beach restaurant
Byron Bay comes alive in the evening, offering the refinement of city dining in a setting of unrivalled natural beauty. From fine dining with ocean views to a hinterland gem that celebrates authentic French cuisine, it’s easy to enjoy a week of adventurous eating.

For dinner with a view, head to Beach Restaurant. This fine dining location overlooks Clarke’s Beach and the bay, offering a refined menu that celebrates modern Australian cuisine, local produce and coastal flavours.

A different perspective can be found at Three Blue Ducks. Diners overlook the 80-acre farm on the edge of Byron Bay where much of the produce found on the menu is grown. The menu itself is full of Australian classics, expertly prepared with an artisan’s eye for detail.

Byron Bay’s Best Restaurants

More exquisite locally-sourced food can be found further afield at Harvest, Newrybar. A 20-minute drive from the resort, this hinterland gem has a menu filled with seasonal, native ingredients, foraged from the wild and their own gardens. For nights you’d prefer not to travel, treat yourself to dinner at Azure Bar and Grill here at Elements of Byron. Our talented chefs bring together the best of Byron Bay’s local produce to create elegant, seasonal dishes. And just around the corner is Barrio, serving delicious Argentinian-inspired food in Byron’s coolest new casual hangout.

The bolt hole bar

For the perfect end to each day, regale your days’ adventures in one of Byron’s beautiful bars.

Elevated above Byron town, The Balcony Bar is not just the place to enjoy the region’s best oysters. It also boasts an extensive wine and spirits list, as well as a list of classic and creative cocktails, all expertly prepared with a view across rooftops.

Back at street level, St Elmo is a cocktail and tapas bar, with sleek contemporary décor and a global list of wines. This is Byron’s premier venue for Spanish tapas too – a place to happily lose an evening in.

Byron’s most adventurous bars

For a place befitting a true adventurer, head to The Bolt Hole. With over 200 whiskeys, gins, rums and artisanal spirits from around the world, sip something special while relaxing into a leather armchair.

Alternatively, imagine yourself far away by heading to the lively Mez Club, where their exquisite signature cocktails are served with an authentic Turkish twist.

But one of Byron’s best night spots is right here, at Elements of Byron. With crackling flames floating on a water base under the canopy of stars, recline with a cocktail or glass of wine in hand around our Fire Pit.

And then take the short walk back to your villa, ready to rest ahead of your next day of adventure in Byron Bay.
